2 December – celebration of ancient trees and the species they support

Back from the Brink and Moreton Wood invite you to “a walk of hope and support” – celebrating ancient trees through art.

At 11.00

A fun, creative and moving family art event in Moccas Wood a beautiful Herefordshire woodland (entry only to those who have pre-booked)

Come long to celebrate Ancient Trees and the myriad of amazing species that depend on them for survival as part of the Ancients of the Future project.

The walk will be a procession of handcrafted banners, that you can make at home (see downloadable document here) and bring along to show your love of wildlife – and will end with a simple ceremony.

The idea is to make a banner that represents 1 of the targeted endangered species to bring along to the procession. Contact Jo at Moreton Wood for more information or if you are unsure about being creative!
If you can’t make it and would like to make a banner anyway you can post a photo of it on twitter/instagram #bannersforancients.
There is a pdf with banner making tips and ideas here.  Be as creative as you like – the only rules are that they are to be made from natural biodegradable materials.
Artist-made banners will be exhibited at Hereford Museum and art Gallery Dec 4th – 15th
