Justine and Stef, Ledbury councillors, have been working with local organisations to get young people’s voices heard in the town. As part of this work some of the town’s young residents recently presented their thoughts through poetry and a short play to a packed hall of community leaders and local groups.
They put tough questions to a panel and audience including Justine, Stef and our MP Ellie Chowns. Some of the immediate actions taken to address young people’s concerns include:
- Setting up of a youth council at John Masefield High School.
- Work to fix play equipment at the Rec.
- Opening of a brand new Youth Club in St Katherines Hall every Tuesday 6-8pm and Thursday 3:15-5:30pm.
Lots more is being planned but if you think you could help at the youth club, who need volunteers to help with running sessions, please get in touch with Justine and we can forward your details.

Justine says:
‘I’m thrilled that Ledbury’s young people are being listened to and that we’ve been able to start getting real action to address issues raised.’
Steph says:
‘It’s exciting to already get action on key issues for Ledbury’s young people. I can’t wait to be further involved in helping young voices get heard!’
