Your local Green Party Leominster councillors, Mark Woodall and Jenny Bartlett, have been listening to concerns from local residents over the new Persimmon Homes housing estate on the former Barons’ Cross Camp.

Plan for 353 new homes at Baron’s Cross, Leominster (Image credit: Persimmon)
The development includes:
- 353 new homes.
- A new primary school for 420 children.
- Allotments and community spaces
- A “link road” connecting the Morrisons access road at Barons Cross in the west to Hereford Road in the east.
- A supermarket and small shops.
- Play areas for children.
Many people are worried about these changes. Some have said that building the link road through the middle of the area, instead of along the southern edge, won’t work for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) from farms and factories. This means it might not reduce HGV traffic in the town. Others are concerned about doctors and dentists not having enough space for more patients. One resident asked, “Where will all these people work if there’s no space for local businesses to grow?”
